Осознание

Once while wandering gloomy and stressed

A toilsome thought was haunting my head –

Frustrated because everyone reprehends

My poems so strongly — I was feeling depressed.

With mist in my eyes and with sense of my fault

I started to shout, “My poems are wrong!

If people rebuke them, then don’t write at all

Or give up ideas which you got across!”

I started to feel like falling apart:

My body was tired as hard as my heart.

But then an old man said, “You can’t make a stride!

Oh, it will be better if we go inside…”

We came to a library — empty and small –

His eyes were insightful.

They begged to tell all.

A fiery feeling of trust for that man

Absorbed me,

I poured my heart out then:

“Only a few people like what I do!

Maybe it’s me and my point of view?”

“It is. You’re unique… and so is your truth.

Hear what I’ll tell without further ado:

Don’t care what they say!

Don’t try to pretend!

Describe your own thoughts

And do this till the end.”

— This is a moral

for every poet.
