Аннотация: В какие отношения друг с другом вступают в романе «Анна Каренина» время действия в произведении и историческое время его создания? Как конкретные события и происшествия вторгаются в вымышленную реальность романа? Каким образом они меняют замысел самого автора? В поисках ответов на эти вопросы историк М. Долбилов в своей книге рассматривает генезис текста толстовского шедевра, реконструируя эволюцию целого ряда тем, характеристик персонажей, мотивов, аллюзий, сцен, элементов сюжета и даже отдельных значимых фраз. Такой подход позволяет увидеть в «Анне Карениной» не столько энциклопедию, сколько комментарий к жизни России пореформенной эпохи — комментарий, сами неточности и преувеличения которого ставят новые вопросы об исторической реальности.
